Guest Blogger: Kelly Dowdle talks 'Faith in Jesus Christ'.
Kelly is both a Model as well as Medical Sales Representative for Pfizer. She is beautiful both inside & out and most notably, it is her faith that catches our attention. I asked Kelly if she would be kind enough to share her perspective on Christ and how she has handled the struggles/uncertainty in her own life.
Thank you so much Kelly for your insight - I have been struck by your amazing faith for some time now which is why I asked you - in particular - to share with us today.
“It’s Never Too Late To Be What You Might Have Been…”
To start off, no one is perfect. Through God, we can find perfection though. He is the only way to touch perfect. I have been through every phase of “unsure” in my life, but I always find my way back to this: Jesus Christ is Lord and I just can’t do it without Him.
My name is Kelly and I don’t know everything, but I am certain about one- The Lord is real and we all have the opportunity to be touched by His Grace.
I have struggled with understanding the unknown, believing in something I can’t see or touch, and having hope in a time of despair. I think we all do this as humans. This is what life is as a human. We struggle through hard times, the loss of family or friends, facing illness or death, and most of all- Just living in our own skin and trying to wake up everyday with a smile on our face. We lose jobs, we suffer depression, we move, we lose, we fight, and we fail. We fail. Every time. We will always eventually fail doing it on our own.
Now what were to happen if we embraced our souls and sought the unseekable? What would happen if we shed some light on our darkness? Our deepest, darkest place that we all have tucked away in our hearts. What if there was a way to heal that part of you? What do we have to lose is the question? The TRUTH is we have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. What would happen if you believe and live your life in Christ? People say, “Well what if we find out that there is no such thing as God or Jesus Christ and this is all just a big theory or way to give us hope?” I am here to tell you today that Jesus Christ is real and has rocked my world. He continues to pull me out of the darkness and bring me into the light… Never failing love. Truth. Light. Understanding. Peace. Prosperity. Hope. Enlightenment. Security.
Answer me this: If you don’t have faith and you don’t believe in the Lord, how is that working for you?
Nelson Mandela wrote the following: “Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some; it is in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
You are not living if you are not dreaming, believing, loving, hoping, and taking chances, communicating, reaching out, and HOPING!!
Through Christ, we can learn to see ourselves as He sees us. We can forgive ourselves, love ourselves, and lift all of the baggage of hate, doubt, and despair we have been carrying around for so long.
If I can leave you with one message, just trust me that He has changed my life. All it takes is opening up your heart, accepting Him into your heart, and trusting. I can assure you it will give you a whole new meaning of life. You will begin to dance to the music of life, lift your head high, and smile knowing that you are God’s perfect child.
Do yourself a favor, fall on your face. Struggle. Face this world alone. Walk around in shame and doubt. Then drop to your knees and reach out for the Mercy of Him. See what happens. Your life can radically change. All it takes is having faith, understanding, and inviting Jesus Christ into your life. I encourage you to do your research. Ask questions. Ask any scientist how the world was created. Talk about the stars in the sky and how there could possibly be no God.
Then when you realize that that entire big question of when, where, why, or how cannot heal your pain, your soul, and fill up your heart- Drop to your knees. He is real. He has been. He is. And He is to come.
The Lord lives in my heart and I choose to walk with Him. I will leave you with this- some people could say I am wrong. They could put their money on it. But I am sure that when I die, I will live in His Kingdom. I am sure I will see His face. I am positive I will feel the Mercy of His Grace. I know I am redeemed. And if we are all wrong, then our bodies will be buried in the dirt and they will slap my name on a grave and call it a day. But I choose not to believe that. I believe this life is worth living for. I believe it is worth living for Him, and by Him. Live life big. And remember- It only takes a little bit of LIGHT to keep out all of the DARKNESS.
