Exercising is so important everyone!! Today's blog is as much for me as it is for all of you. There is no excuse for any of us not to be doing some form of exercise at least 3 days a week...minimum. I would love to think we can fit in 30 minutes of exercise - daily.
We do not need an expensive gym membership to do it either. All any of us need is the right attitude & a good pair of workout shoes.
Walking - simply getting outdoors in the fresh air is not only giving you a big dollop of Vitamin D but the endorphins will be leapin'! You just feel better when you take care of yourself. I know I do. The endless documented evidence supporting the benefits of exercise is growing along w/ America's obesity rates. This is a bit bewildering & I hope 2012 brings healthier changes in all of our health.
I truly believe that America is waking up to the damaging aftermath of processed food. People are waking up to the fact that they do not want to live their life anymore numbed out by disease promoting foods, ill health, endless medical bills, etc. People are waking up to the benefits of a plant based diet thanks to the likes of Forks Over Knives and Fat Sick and Nearly Dead (powerful documentaries that are sweeping the U.S.).
There is one thing that all of us can do immediately to benefit our health - both mind, body & spirit - and that is to exercise. If you have a chronic health condition (like yours truly), you can do stretches in your bed - move your limbs - get your blood circulating. If this is too challenging, might I suggest meditating? Meditating is a wonderful stress reliever. I think Kris Carr gives great tips on meditating in her book Crazy Sexy Diet. See the pic I included? Grab a yoga mat, a blanket - whatever you have - head out into the sun or a room in your home that you feel most cozy in - and have a seat. Clear your mind - focus on your breath - how your breath is moving through your body - and girl, you are meditating! (0:
Please learn to love your body. Your body is spectacular and wants to be healthy - desperately. Just think what we put our bodies through both physically and mentally - are you kind to your body? Think about it and hopefully, if you are not, you will make some changes.
