Celebrate.
"Clear your mind, focus on something happy, and make it a powerful memory, the happiest you can remember. Let it completely fill you up."
Harry Potter - Harry teaching the kids in "Dumbledore's Army"
I write today's blog with so much joY in my heart.
Some of you get uncomfortable when I mention God & my faith but I must mention Him in this next line (sorry - jump ahead if you are offended). God has answered some of my prayers today (gigantic ones) and I have to give Him the glory So, thank you Lord! When we receive answered prayers, let us never forget to thank ALL involved - so important!
Because prayers in my own life are being answered, it made me realize how essential it is to celebrate!!!! My initial instinct was to focus on the next 'phase' of the challenge ahead of me and my best friend stopped me mid-sentence, to remind me to celebrate what God had just done for me!! So, I am.
We are in such a fast-paced, technology driven world. I am astounded by people's stamina to combine working, raising children, working out, maintaining friendships and working on your marriage. Do people even know how to celebrate anymore? Celebrations (weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc.) are spent generally in a stressful state via the host - organizing, greeting, serving and then dropping into your pillows at the end of the soiree however successful it was.
I am proposing we all make time to celebrate by slowing down and partaking in whatever it is that will allow you to soak in the JOY!!!!!!! It IS what life is all about. If you are not celebrating something today, start now.
I have a friend who ran a marathon recently & directly after some high fives, pats on the back and hugs - she was plotting her next run - never having celebrated what she just accomplished!!!! Jenny from The Mixing Bowl Bakery made her some yummy vegan treats (I am known for giving cupcakes to those I love - everyone knows this) & we sat together to savor them - hug it out - and celebrate all that she has done!!!! She said it made her feel so much better and she vowed to celebrate more often.
It's ok to stop and smell the roses ya know. Matter of fact, it's an insult to your own life, faith, yourself and those around you - if you don't!
So let me know what you are celebrating today - however small or large!!! Message me!
I will share that I have celebrated today with warm conversations with my absolute best friends. I am celebrating by praising God. I am celebrating by loving my dog up!
I am also patiently awaiting a visit from the lovely gent I am dating. He is on his way home from work travel and we will celebrate as well. Yes, there is a lovely man in my life ya'll!!! I know the questions will be coming now - haha!!!
I have stopped myself today - planted my feet firmly in this earth - and looked around at the special people who are blessing my life. I am not only grateful, I am blessed.
So are you.
Big hugs for you & yours,
Kelly Lynn
